SAMBO in Ireland began to develop in 2001.
The best representatives of Irish SAMBO are Derek Conway (up to 74 kg), who took 6th place at the 2008 World Championships in St. Petersburg (Russia), Brian Conway (up to 57 kg) and Kevin Moran (up to 74 kg), performing in competitions in combat sambo.
In 2019 Irish SAMBO team came 2nd in the team event of "President's Cup" (Ballymena, Northern Ireland).
